This building was due for a change of use until work on Sunderland's new court complex on the cleared Farringdon Row site was stalled as the recession gets harder.
Round the corner is the burial ground known as Galley's Gill Cemetery. It was used from
October 1839 until 1856  when Bishopwearmouth in Chester Road opened.
