The Minster Church of St Michael and All Angels and St Benedict Biscop.
Dates back to c.940AD formally serving the ancient parish of Bishopwearmouth.

The original Parish Church of Sunderland. Grade 1 listed.
Early Georgian Church dates from 1719. Original woodwork, Sunderlands first Town Hall and Magistrates Court, and the towns first library. Stained glass by Hartley. Trafalgar roll of honour.
