Pictured at  Sunderlands A.F.C. Stadium of light is 1973
FA Cup final hero,s Jim Montgomery, Bobby Kerr and Dick Malone.

Goalkeeper Jim  (Monty ) made one of his greatest saves when he
deflected a shot from
Peter Lorimer onto the bar .

Dick Malone, as always was onto the ball and before any of the Leeds plays had time to think, he quickly cleared it, ensuring victory for Sunderland.

Bobby Kerr, proudly holds the
 F.A. Cup high after beating
  Leeds United.

Manager Bob Stokoe dubbed Team
Captain Bobby the 'Little General'  for his leadership, tactical know-how and
all-round contribution to the side.

Bobby Kerr and his team, exhausted as they proudly show off
the cup. Did you know that Sunderland's triumph made them the first FA Cup winners to lift the trophy with a side featuring no full international players.
