The Dodds family is probably best known for being Foyboatmen.
My mother is Yvonne Dodds, now Yvonne Wright and this is where I begin. Her Father and my Grandad was Charles and his boat was called the Norman. Charles married Barbera Moffat Lawes Laines and had 14 children. Starting with the oldest there was Mary , Ellena ( Nellie ) , Charles William , Anne , Olga ( named after the ship Lady Olga) , Freda, Jack , Yvonne ( Vonny ) Peggy and James ( Jimmy). There was also Rhoda (19 ) , Barbara ( 8 ) , Norman who sadly drowned aged ( 7 or 8 ) and Stan young infant (3 ). Uncle Charlie ( Charles William ) had the foyboat " Brian " which I believe was shared with Uncle Jack.
There is also cousins who were also involved in Foyboats , Tug and Pilot Boats. One of those is my Mams cousin Alan Dodds , known as Tal and his brother Jackie who unfortunately drowned.
