The Clarendon Hotel on High Street is one of the oldest pubs in the East End.
Although the pub on this site was originally  known as the Hare and Hound, when rebuilt in 1818 its name changed to the Cropt Fox. Several name changes later, in 1865 it finally settled on The Clarendon  which remains to this day.

Not many people know is that Real Ale is brewed on the premises .
Some of the fantastic Ales that are made here will also be available at The Sunderland Beer Festival.  If you cant wait that long, call into the pub where, for as little as £15, you can buy a mini-cask of nine pints to take home or try the Real Ales on offer.
